∼Died, March 16, 1855, of plurisy and inflamation of the bowels, after an illness of 16 weeks, Mr. John Bealor, aged 62 years, 11 months, and 19 days. The deceased was the son of Mark Bealor, and was born in Bricknock Township, Berks county, Pa. was joined in marriage to Miss Catharine Smith on the 24th of June, 1817, and was the father of 11 children, of whom 1 son and 2 daughters preceded him to eternity. In early life he came to Perry County, and has ever since resided contiguous to the church which bears his name, and in site of Bosserman's Mills. Mr. Bealor was one of the oldest, most respectable and most useful men of that community. When such men depart this life, their loss is severely felt by his fellow citizens. The high estimation in which he was held by all who know him was clearly evinced on this occasion by an unusually large number of serious people who followed his mortal remains as far as they could follow him to the grave. Though the streams were swollen high and the roads were very hard to travel, men and women flocked togeather from all quarters, and filled the church to her utmost capacity. We heard it said that a larger funeral was never seen in that place.

Mr. Bealor was for about 40 years, an highly valuable member of the German Reformed Church, ardently devoted to all her interests, though he made little difference between that and the sister church, which worships in the same house. His seat was never vacant when the congregation met at the Lord's Table he always filled his place, in supporting the ministry he was among the foremost, and his heart ever responded to the circs of charity. As a church member, no less as a citizen and father will his death be lamented. But our temperary loss is doubtlessly his eternal gain. During his last days he suffered intensely; yet, amid all his christian fortitude and pious resignation were such as in a remarkeable manner, to attract the attention of all his visitors. After singing and praying at the house and the usual services at the grave, the writer pronounced a funeral oration in the church, in English from "2 Cor. 5 and in German from 2 Cor. 4, 17, 18.
