Donald, a twin of his brother Thomas Ross Gallant Jr., died 23 days after birth. Place of death was at home at 1218 East 66th street Chicago Illinois. Informant was his father Thomas Ross Gallant. His death certificate lists that the twins were born prematurely. Maiden name of mother is Margaret L. Lord. (She was baptised Margaret Leech Lord ) daughter of Elizabeth (Lane) Lord and William Rufus Bicklen Lord.

Date of burial of Donald is 20 July 1910. Only a single grave plot was bought at the time, so he is the only one in their family buried there. His parents and his oldest brother Joseph Alexander Gallant died many years later, and are buried in another cemetery in the area. Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park, Cook County, Illinois.

Surviving brothers and sisters of Donald were Joseph Alexander Gallant, Elizabeth Lane Gallant, Margaret Lord Gallant and Thomas Ross Gallant Jr. his twin.

Donald's mother, my grandmother, took me to Oak Woods cemetery often as a child on streetcars, when I visited my grandparents in Chicago, to tend his grave. He was not forgotten then and is not forgotten now as she had hoped he never would be.
