Benjamin Franklin Sikes, 70, of Sylvester died Wednesday at his residence after a lengthy illness. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Banks Funeral Home with burial in Isabella Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Cooper will officiate.
A native of Worth County, Mr. Sikes had lived in Albany most of his life. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a lifelong member of the NRA and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Shepherd Sikes of Albany; three daughters, Julie Ann Wright and Donna Sue Smith, both of Brunswick and Melissa June Sikes of Fernandino Beach, Fla.; three sons, Allen B. Sikes and William Lee Sikes, both of Brunswick, and Douglas Sikes of Miami, Fla; two stepsons, John Bullington of Pelham and Glynn Bullington of Albany; a half-brother, James Conger of Plains; two half-sisters, Sydney G. Reynolds of Americus and Claudia Wade of Albany; and several grandchildren...
