Elgin - Funeral services for Mr. Walter "Buddy" Eugene Medlin, 84, of Elgin, will be held 11 o'clock Thursday morning, April 21, 2005, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, with the Reverend Otis Lee and the Reverend Nancy Brazell officiating. Interment will follow in Spears Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Medlin died Tuesday, April 19, 2005. Born in Pontiac, S.C., he was a son of the late Thurman Eugene and Laura Coleman Medlin. He was a U. S. Army veteran of W W II and had retired from MB Khan. Mr. Medlin was a former member of Spears Creek Baptist Church and a life-long farmer. Survivors include his sons, Thurman Medlin and wife, Carlene, Charlie Medlin and Larry Medlin and wife, Lynne, all of Elgin; daughters, Laura Sue Ford and husband, Larry, of Elgin and Terri Riker and husband. Craig, of Dunedin, Fl; grandchildren, Karen, Thurman Jr., Tonya, Shane, and Larry Medlin Jr., Missy Lee, Katie Thompson, Tony Ford and Tonda Owens; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Mitchell, Marcie and Dylon Medlin, Michael Bateman, Brook and Brian Snider, Mattie Britt, Kailia and Jesika Ford, Shelby Owens; siblings, Ezell "Boots" Medlin, Myrtis Brown, Estelle Walker and Naomi Martin. Mr. Medlin was formerly married to Gladys Neese.
