Matt was the son of George and Betty O'Meara. He married Kathleen Kay Ann Bash on August 27, 1960 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hillsdale, Hillsdale County, Michigan. To this union were born three daughters and a son. Services were held on January 11, 2007 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Matt was cremated and his ashes returned to his family.
