Obituary in The State, Columbia, SC, 1 Jun 2001: Funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Catoe Kelly, 65, of Columbia, SC, will, be held 11 o'clock Monday morning, September 10, 2001, in Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, conducted by The Reverend Mr. Edward N. Taylor. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 o'clock Sunday evening, September 9, 2001, in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Cancer Center, Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital, Five Richland Medical Park Drive, Columbia, SC 29203. Active Pallbearers the MOC Men of VFW Post #641, Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ladies Auxiliary and The MOC Ladies of VFW Post #641. Mrs. Kelly, widow of Robert W. Kelly, Sr., died Thursday, September 6, 2001. Born in Kershaw County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Gene and Elise Trimnal Catoe. Mrs. Kelly was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church; she was active in the Cub Scouts as Den mother. Following the death of her husband of 38 years, she became a member of the VFW post #641 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Kelly was a resident of Christopher Towers. Survivors are a son, Robert W. Kelly and his wife, Mary; a daughter, Linda Hunt and friend, Michael Yonkosky, all of Columbia; a son, Brian Kelly of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Mandy Cottrell and her husband, Allan of Port St. Lucie, FL, Amber Hunt of Winnsboro, SC and Dustin Kelly of Charleston, SC; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Bennett of Cayce, SC; and a brother, Homer Bennett and his wife, Connie of Gaston, SC. Mrs. Kelly was predeceased by a sister, Jewel Horsley.
