Vincent Barnack, 86, of Clitherall, died Wednesday, March 10, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Henning.
Vincent Frank Barnack was born on Feb. 24, 1925 at home in Leaf Mountain Township, rural Clitherall, Minnesota. His parents were the late John and Agatha (Turchin) Barnack. Vince grew up on the family farm in Leaf Mountain Township were he attended District #70 Country School. Vince has resided in Leaf Mountain Township his entire life. When he was 14 years old, Vince started working the woods with his father. They made firewood to heat their home and enjoyed nature. When Vince turned 16, he learned to enjoy smoking a pipe and only set the pipe aside just recently before he passed away. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator throughout Minnesota.
On Nov. 29, 1973, Vince was united in marriage to Charlotte Margaret (Lund) Alberg in Watertown, South Dakota. From 1973 to 1979, Vince helped Charlotte operate Scenic Point Resort on Clitherall Lake. Vince was also maintained the township roads for 15 years. He also enjoyed spearing in the winter and with Charlotte, and together they enjoyed angling and trapping leeches for resale. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Preceding Vince in death were his parents, John and Agatha.
Vincent is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte of Clitherall; his poodle and best friend, Andy; step-sons: Russell (Elaine) Alberg of Clitherall; Gaylord (Susan) Alberg of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister, Virginia Hanson of Henning; brother, Lester Barnack of Henning; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Belmont Funeral Home, Henning

Burial: Girard Union Cemetery, Henning
