After graduating from Easley High School as valedictorian of the class of 1935, she attended Asheville Teachers College and Draughn's Business College and retired from C&S Bank. She was also a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women, a life member of the Circle 5 for over fifty years as treasurer, and the Tuesday Morning and Afternoon Bridge Clubs. Mrs. Sarratt loved her family and friends and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend for the way she shared her passion for life and those around her. She also gave tireless care to her extended family and friends while considering each one's needs before her own. She committed every day to Bible study and prepared often as a Sunday School teacher for more than seventy years.

Mrs. Sarratt's family thrived on her nurturing spirit, constructive guidance and fondness for laughter. Surviving are four children: Judy S. Brown (Wayne), Bobbi S. Scott (Clif), Madison Parrish "Pat" Sarratt, and Christopher Goode Sarratt (Chris and Marie); four grandchildren, Jeff Brown (Jan), John Brown, Rachel Scott Decker (Tom), and Jim Scott; three great grandchildren, Lauren Brown, James Decker, and Michael Decker; a sister-in-law, Ernestine Parrish and a brother-in-law, John F. Griffin, Sr. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sarratt was predeceased by three brothers: Oree Parrish, Hugh Parrish and Benson Parrish, and by six sisters: Ossie Tripp, Bernice Drake, Laura Pepper, Agnes Campbell, Salena Griffin and Sara Garrison.
