Mrs. Sarratt was born and reared in Easley and was a daughter of the late Oscar S. and Lillie Cunningham Parrish. She was the youngest daughter and last survivor of ten children.
After graduating from Easley High School as valedictorian of the class of 1935, she attended Asheville Teachers College and Draughn's Business College and retired from C&S Bank. She was a member of the Azalea Garden Club and the Lucy Holcombe Pickens Chapter Questers International (Seekers). Mrs. Sarratt was a member of Easley First United Methodist Church, having joined in 1928 when it was known as Mount Olivet Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women, a life member of the Circle 5 for over fifty years as treasurer, and the Tuesday Morning and Afternoon Bridge Clubs. Mrs. Sarratt loved her family and friends and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend for the way she shared her passion for life and those around her. She also gave tireless care to her extended family and friends while considering each one's needs before her own. She committed every day to Bible study and prepared often as a Sunday School teacher for more than seventy years.
