aul Ervin Carlson, 82, died May 1, 1998 at his home in Wallsburg, Utah.

Born Sept. 5, 1915 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Hyrum Benjamin and Mary Ellen Wilson Carlson. Married Maurine Henline Sept. 30, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church having served in the bishopric for 14 years, a mission with his wife to North Carolina, as a temple worker in the Provo and Timpanogos Temples for many years and various other ward and stake positions. He lived his life in Charleston and Wallsburg. He worked as a farmer, carpenter and retired from the Forest Service. Enjoyed sports especially softball, hunting, fishing and gardening. His home was always open to family, friends and neighbors.Survived by his wife of Wallsburg. Children: Dean (Sharon) Carlson, Midway; Wayne (Cheri) Carlson, Dale (Rhea) Carlson, Laree (Eric) Jacobsen all of Wallsburg; Glen (Nancy) Carlson, Sandy; Joe (Debbie) Carlson, Riverton, UT; Janet Ayer, Durango, CO; Jane (Roger) Ogden, St. George. Daughter-in-law Mrs. Bill (Linda) Morgan, Bountiful. 35 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Brothers: Bert Carlson, West Valley and Jack Carlson, Charleston. Sister, May Hoover, American Fork.

Preceded in death by brothers: Dale, Roy, Max and Earl Carlson. Son, Clyde Carlson; one grandson and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday May 5, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Wallsburg 1st Ward. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Mortuary and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Charleston Cemetery.
