Ethel Merrell, 94, of Hendersonville, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Carolina Village Medical Center. She was a native of Henderson County and the daughter of the late Benjamin A. Merrell and Alice Stepp Merrell. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell Merrell and Brownlow Merrell; and a sister-in-law, Jane Merrell. Before her retirement, she was associated with Staton Insurance Agency as an insurance agent for many years. She is survived by one niece, Nenon Ujiki of Hendersonville; one grandnephew and one grandniece, Michael and Amy Ujiki of Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Curt Crist officiating. Entombment will be private.
