Clive Weldon Timmons dies of Heart Attack
Clive Weldon Timmons, 55, assistant foreman of the Star-Telegram mailing room, was dead on arrival at a hospital about 9 a.m. Tuesday after suffering a heart attack and smashing his car into a utility pole at W. Berry and Willing.
Peace Justice Jim Boorman ruled death due to natural causes. He said Timmons had been under a doctor's care for a heart condition.
A witness to the crash, Mrs. Ruth Pytel of 3624 Wilbarger, told Officer N. E. Lewis she saw Timmons slump over in the seat and run into the pole. She said Timmons was barely breathing when she reached him.
Timmons, whose car was moving very slowly when it hit the poles, was not bruised or scratched by the impact.
A relative said Timmons had been to the barber shop getting a hair cut and was returning to his home at 4016 Willing. He was alone.
Timmons, a native of Prairie Hill, had worked at the Star- Telegram since July 1, 1930. He was a member of Julian Feild Masoni Lodge 908.
Surviving is a son, Terry Timmons of Austin, and a sister, Mrs. Winnie Montgomery of Washington State.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ray Crowder Funeral Home.
