Catherine Marie Stapleman
On March 2, 2011, our Mother, Catherine Marie Stapleman passed away and went home to heaven to walk with the Lord.

Catherine was born to Catherine Spencer in Brewster, Neb. on Nov. 11, 1925 to parents Harry and Edith (Waters) Spencer.

In 1945, after WWII, Catherine married Norman Stapleman who had just returned from fighting in Europe. She gave up her teaching career to move with Norman and their daughter Barbara to Yoncalla, Ore. in 1949.

Catherine loved growing flowers. She had a ceramic shop in the late 1960's teaching the art of creating and painting treasures made of ceramic. She worked as a nurses aid at Roseburg Community Hospital in Roseburg Ore. during the 1970's and into the early 1980's.

Daughter Barbara Wales passed away in 1996, and Catherine and Norman moved to Hillsboro, Ore.

Catherine is survived by husband, Norman Stapleman; son, Ken Stapleman; daughter, Betty Rue; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Catherine was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jean Wales; sister, Etta Miller; and brothers, Fred, Ray, and Ralph Spencer.

There will be a private committal at Roseburg Memorial Gardens, in Roseburg Ore.

The family requests that any contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society in honor of Catherine.
