He retired from LaSalle Steel Company in Hammond, IN. Preceded in death by: Parents, Oscar & Rena Irwin; Brother, Doyle Irwin. Survivors include: Wife, Irma Irwin; Sons, Jason Irwin and Dale Potter both of Maryville; Daughter & Son-in-law, Debbie & Bill Jenkins of Knoxville; Grandchildren, Amanda Potter, Kelsey Jenkins, Jessie Irwin; Brother & Sister-in-law, Bill & Jody Irwin of Maryville; Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Dean & Pat Reed and Joyce & Ralph Lee all of Maryville; Mother-in-law, Ruth Hatcher of Maryville; Special Sisters-in-law, Kathy Holloway and Roving Moore both of Maryville. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 29, 2001 in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Jim Wells and Rev. Ralph Lee officiating. Friends may call at their convenience after 12:00 Noon, Saturday, April 28, 2001 at Smith Mortuary. Interment will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 30, 2001 at East Maryville Baptist Church Cemetery.
