When only 10 years old,Linda Lou lost her life in a housefire near Marriottsville,MD.in Carroll county.She and her father,Arthur were dead when the firemen arrived. Her mother Lillian died days later. Linda stayed home from school with a sore throat. It was said in the paper that she was crippled, but it is an older sister who was crippled with Polio. Three children were attending school at Sykesvlle...Thomas, 8, Betty Jane,11, and Beatrice,13.
Three other children; Evelyn and Shirley were married and Charles lived away from home. Evelyn told the newspapers that Lillian and Arthur had a total of 15 children. 8 died as babies.
