William Wright BAKER was born 7 March 1822 in Shipley, Derbyshire, England to James BAKER & Ruth WRIGHT, and was Christened 18 March 1822 in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England. His occupation while living in England was Coal Miner.

He married (1) Alice STEVENSON 4 October 1845 in Ilkeston. Alice died 26 February 1853 in Ilkeston of TB and was buried 28 February 1853. They had 4 known children all born in Ilkeston: Alice b. 1 February 1847; James b. 1849 - d. the same year; James Brigham b. 17 February 1850; Ruth b. 15 Nov 1851.

He married (2) Susannah CRAGG 28 November 1853 at St. Loedegarius, Basford, Nottingham, England. They had 4 known children: John Willard b. 26 October 1854; Mary Ann b. 25 March 1856; Agnes Hannah b. October 1859; William Phineas b. 15 January 1862.

William, along with his wife Susannah and 2 of their children, immigrated to America on the ship Idaho, sailing from Liverpool, England 7 September 1870, arriving at the Port of New York on the 22 September 1870. They settled in Provo, Utah Territory. He was Naturalized the 22 September 1875.

He married (3) Jane GRUNDY 29 November 1878 in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory. Jane died 6 months, 6 days later.
