Son of Thomas Comer. Born in Union County, SC. Married Sarah Jane Gregory in Union, SC. Thomas J Comer brought the Comer family to Texas from South Carolina. During the War Between The States, his Unit was the Palmetto Sharpshooters. He was in Company A, Johnson Rifles, Union County, SC, Rank: Private. His Unit served under Robert E Lee in Virginia. After the war he came to Texas and began farming again. He died Oct. 23, 1889 in Hunt, Texas.
