Funeral services for Mrs. Emma M. Whorton, 77, of 711 South 10th Street, who died at the home of her son, Leroy Whorton, in Rome, Ga.; after a long illness, will be held tomorrow at the Central Methodist Church.

Interment will be in the Hughes cemetery with Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.

Active pallbearers will include James Page, Odis Sizemore, Carlton Geer, Bailey McNair, Macon Vice, Wilburn Hallmark and Mavis Wilson.

Mrs. Whorton is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Morrell Roberts of Washington, D.C.; a son, Leroy Whorton; a brother, John A. Yaikow, of Wellington; a grandchild and three great grandchildren.

She was a native and life-long resident of Gadsden and was a member of the Central Methodist Church..
