Patrick G. Lynch, 63, Carbondale, PA., died Saturday morning, July 19, 2008 at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA., after an illness. Born May 20, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY., he was the son of the late Gerard and Mary (Jacobs) Lynch. He resided in Brooklyn, New York for most of his life and had resided in Waymart, PA. and Carbondale for the past 10 years. He graduated from the George Westinghouse Vocational and Technical High School in Brooklyn. He was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. After being discharged from the military, he worked as a police officer for the NYPD and later worked for the railroad on the B & O Chessie System, Staten Island, NY. He also worked at Ulano Printing in Brooklyn as a maintenance supervisor and in the warehouse at Cinram, Olyphant, PA. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. He never had a harsh word for anyone and was a kind and gentle man who enjoyed spending time with his family and working on his hobby which was building model trains from scratch. The funeral was held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 8:30 AM from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
