Eugene Pursel-Purcell, was the son of Jane Thompson and Eli Pursel, Pickaway Co., Ohio. He was the grandson of Daniel Pursel born 1795 in NJ. He was a brother to Lanson, Martha, Nancy, Sarah (Swan), Daniel W., George M., John H., Francis and Ida. Eugene never married but lived his later years with his sister Ida, in Chillicothe, MO. His brother Daniel Webster Pursel married Flora Alice Crawford, and moved to Webster Co, MO. He had many relatives living there in Webster co. His brother George married Ella and lived in Chillicothe, and George died of a self inflicted gunshot wound. Eugene died of a cerebral hemorrhage/stroke. He was age 66 yr. 2 mo. and 7 da., and was born in Springfield, Clark Co., OH., according to his sister Frances Butler, informant on his death certificate. May Eugene rest in peace near his parents and other relatives in Edgewood Cemetery.
