Graveside services for Charles Ray Chandler, age 85 of the Centerview Community in Leon County, were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Concord Cemetery in Concord, Texas. Rev. Ray Grissett officiated the service.

Charles Ray Chandler was born on November 10, 1922 in Concord, Texas to Samuel Walter & Stella (Brown) Chandler. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a chemical operator in the fertilizer industry for thirty years. He and his late wife, Alice, had lived in the Centerview community since 1978, coming from Pasadena, Texas. Mr. Chandler enjoyed ranching and playing dominoes. He especially loved his family. He will always be remembered as an honest and well respected man who was a friend to all. Mr. Chandler passed away on February 16, 2011 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of fifty-seven years, Alice Elizabeth (Tubb) Chandler; son; Darwin Ray Chandler; daughter, Lisa Jo Chandler, brothers, Wade & James Chandler; sisters, Pearl Barrett & Vera Carter and an infant sibling.

Survivors include son, Samuel Walter Chandler, II of the Centerview Community; daughters, Lana (Chandler) Weiland of the Centerview Community & Neva Lynn (Chandler) Shamblin & husband, Kenneth of Deer Park; grandchildren, Joshua Lee Chandler Weiland & Neva Renee Morales & husband, Jay and great grandchildren, Dylan Jay Morales & Taylor Nicole Morales.

Pallbearers were Chase Wilkins, Robbie Ewart, Danny Tubb, Justin Tubb, Brodie Manthei & Joe Langley.

Honorary Pallbearers were O.B. Lynchard, A.C. Hoyt & James O. Hill.
