Joseph P. Fassbinder, 69, Salina, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1993, at the St. John's Regional Health Center, Salina.
Mr. Fassbinder was born Jan. 20, 1924, at Solomon and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He worked on oil rigs and drove a transport for Triplett, Inc., Salina, retiring in 1989.
He also worked for the Salina Transit, Inc. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the American Legion, and the Moose Lodge, all of Salina, and the Central Kansas Yacht Club.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia of the home; a son, Tony Richard of Salina; a daughter, Tammy Perea of Salina; a brother, Robert of Abilene; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina, the Rev. Alvin Werth officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Aurora.
A vigil will be at 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the St. John's Hospital Employee Emergency Fund.
Visitation will be at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, 67401.
