Dr. Calvin Blythe.

Dr. Calvin Blythe, a retired physician who practiced medicine at Woodburn, Clarke county, for the past forty years, and who moved to this city about four years ago, and has resided at 301 New York avenue died Wednesday night at the family residence at 9:45 o'clock of organic heart trouble, and old age. At the time of his death five daughters, who live in different parts of the state, were present at his bedside having been sent for owing to his serious illness which has been of some weeks duration. The deceased was more than 73 years old, and leaves a wife and five children as follows: Mrs. Swisher, of Creston Ia: Mrs. Fred L. D. Warner, of Ottumwa: Mrs. L. G. Hood of Creston; Mrs. W. H. Mitchener, of Emerson Ia. and Mrs. O. B. Felger of Afton, Ia. The funeral will take place Monday morning at 10 o'clock the remains being taken to Woodburn for interment. The old gentleman was quite well known to the neighborhood in which he has made his home and was highly respected by all. In the old home where he was a practicing physician for so many years, the death will be especially a source of sorrow, and the family have the sympathy of the community in their affliction.—Creston Advertiser.
