Penelope Jane "Penny" Horton Daniels, 64, of Ashland, died Monday, March 7, 2011, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.

She was born July 11, 1946, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Lawrence "Bub" Gee and Minnie Belle Tiller Gee.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Missy Horton Davis, in 2008.

She was a retired registered nurse at St. Mary's Medical Center with 17 years of experience. She was of the Baptist faith, sang at numerous churches and gave gospel tapes to her Home Health patients. She was a 4-H leader in Ashland for the Boyd County Saddlelites and an antique dealer.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond Daniels; eight grandchildren, Michelle Blair of Bardstown, Becky Thacker of Greenup, Jesse and Josh Cline of Ashland, Lena Groves of Tennessee, Nikki Bullion and Brandi Harris, both of Ashland, and Casey Arnold of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; seven great-grandchildren; stepchildren Kim Horton and Randy Thacker of Greenup and Charles Martin "Marty" Horton II and Suzy Michelle "Shea" Horton, both of Ashland; a brother, Pat Gee of Ashland; and a sister, Susie Gee Maze of Ashland.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by Brother Larry Garvin. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the funeral home.
