Medical Center. Born May 6, 1928, at Bearwallow, Va., he was the son of the late Betty Dunford. He was a member of UMWA and
president of the Virginia Black Lung Association. Calvin was a member of Richlands Masonic Lodge No. 318 and a member and
deacon of Reynolds Ridge Community Church. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Ann
Dunford; one brother, Elmer Dunford; one granddaughter, Tonya Denise Dunford; and one son-in-law, Jim Shaffer. He is survived
by his loving wife of 61 years, Geneva Dunford; one daughter, Sandy Shaffer of Richlands, Va.; two sons, Jerry Dunford and wife
Chris of Richlands, and Lloyd Dunford and wife Kathy of Reynolds Ridge; 10 grandchildren, Chris Dunford, Melissa Vicars,
Melinda Barber, Curtis Dunford, Ethan Home, Jordan Home, Lonica Deskins, Shawn Cole, Nathaniel Dunford and Barry Strouth;
13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan.
7, 2011, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va., with Pastor Paul Crawford and Pastor Lonnie Perkins officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Va. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar
