Great Crowd of Neighbors and Friends gather at M.E. Church to Pay Their Respects

Mr. Joseph Richards has been a resident of Hinton for 25 years and has performed faithfully the duties of night watchman in Hinton for seven and a half years. He has been blest with good health until about two months ago when he became afflicted with a malady which necessitated an operation, which was performed on October 1st, but due to complications his earthly race terminated rather unexpectedly the following day.

The funeral was held at the M.E.Church, Sunday, October 5th and was attended by great crowds of sympathizing friend and neighbors, a great many of whom were unable to gain admittance to the church. Rev. Webb delivered a masterly funeral sermon, taking as his text Rev. 21:1, "And there shall be no more sea." The flowers were beautiful and many favorable comments were made about the services.
