VALLEY - Mr. Wallace L. Houston, 85, of Valley passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb.19 at the graveside in Fairfax Cemetery in Valley with the Rev. Perry Duffey officiating.

Mr. Houston is survived by his wife, Sujette Houston; two brothers, Jack Winfred (Henrietta) Houston of Loganville, Ga. and Bennie (Olive) Brinston Houston of Santa Maria, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Brenda (Gary) Goodman of Opelika; and a niece, Tana (Charles) Branch of Auburn.

Mr. Houston was born Aug. 11, 1924 in Shawmut to the late S. M. and Amy Houston. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fairfax. He was a World War II U. S. Army veteran. He commanded a B-24 bomber over the Pacific. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in aeronautical engineering.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl L. Houston, and his stepbrother, Edward Campbell.
