Her parents were Serbian, by blood - Hungarian, by birth = her parents did NOT emigrate to America.

Born = Milka / Amálka Koziæ / Kozics - in House #117 in Médina (Tolna county), Hungary - Amelia was Christened in the Serbian Orthodox Greek Rite.

To avoid capture and denied emigration, they departed from a port in Germany in Aug 1904. She emigrated with her husband and two of their children from Rácmecske / Erdosmecske, Hungary - settlin in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Her son Gabe would emigrated with my grand-father (Amelia's brother George Kositch SR.) later that same year.

Amelia / Milka's Maiden name was spelled many different ways after she and her brother (my g'pa George) emigrated in 1904. i.e., Koszics, Kozic, Kosic . . . in America, eventually using the spelling: "Kositch"

Her husband Daniel's Serbian name (Vukajlovits / Kálovics) was treated just as poorly in their adopted country !

Born in Hungary, her three sons and one daughter would chose their own personal spellings: Calowits, Colowitz, Callovits, Callwitts . . . When there are two or more siblings - there, too, will be different spellings !

Every genealogist knows that name-spelling - not always accurate - is through the ear of the scribe !

[chhildren: Gabriel # 74073241 - John # 94255518 - Carolina # 66645095 - Alexander # 62405237 + parents: Amelia # 66644793 - Daniel # 66780616 ]

Her Scranton-born son was Alexander W. Calowits (1906-1992).

As of this writing, we do not know where my Aunt Amelia (nor any of her Family) was laid to rest. Possibly her grand-children may have buried her in the German part of some Cemetery.

My father told me that his aunt Amelia was blind.

There are no photographs of my grand-aunt Amelia. If, by some miracle, you can photograph - or provide any documentation - about my prescious relatives - I will be most appreciative. Thank you for your Patience.
