In the month of November, on the 20th day of the year 1905, a baby girl was born to Rev.J. P. and Estella Davis in Woodstock, TN. She was the 7th child born to this union. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Red Bird, OK. A graduate of Red Bird's Miller Washington High School, she also graduated from Langston University and later obtained a Masters Degree from Northeastern State University. She taught school for 57 years.

She married Ervin Jackson and five children were born, however, only three survived. She also reared two of her sister's children after the death of their mother. After the death of her husband, Ervin Jackson, she later married Sylvester Beard, who also preceded her in death. Her daughter, Tessie Mae Jackson Burdine, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Beard answered the calling of her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 11, 1999, in Muskogee, OK. She leaves to cherish her loving memory; her devoted son, Ervin Jackson, Jr., devoted daughter, Hilda Foreman, a sister, Pauline Brame, daughter-in law, Elsie Jackson, two sons-in law, Quennen Burdine and Raymond Foreman, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one remaining very special brother-in law, Robert Jackson, three sisters-in law, Edna Mae Jackson, Ester Jackson and Emma C.Jackson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Shiloh Baptist Church, Red Bird, OK. Rev. Willie Griffin, Pastor and Rev. George Palmer, Officiating. Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors handled the arrangements.
