- - - - - Obituary = DANIEL E. CHERMAK SR., 73, of St. Petersburg died Thursday at home.

A native of Scranton, Pa., Daniel came to the area in 1984 from Clarks Summit, Pa.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He received a Purple Heart, Air Medal, three Oak Leaf Clusters, European, African and Middle East Service Medals.


He was an engineer for Precision Engineering and Manufacturing Co. and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign War Abington Memorial Post in Clarks Summit, Prisoner of War and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 2 of Florida.


He is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons, Daniel Jr. and Scott, both of Clarks Summit; a daughter, Gale Nickerson of Treasure Island; two sisters, Helen Papach of Waverly, Pa., and Pauline Racavich of Clarks Summit; and five grandchildren.
