Adrian H. Summerville, 89, passed away on March 6, 2011 at the Arbors of Marietta.

He was born November 21, 1921, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Sanford F. and Elaine L. Sams Summerville.

Adrian graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class 1941 and was a member of the Big Red Marching Band. He was a self-employed electrician and plumber. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5108 and the Military Order of the Cootie. He was Parkersburg's "piano man" entertaining at parties, political events, fundraisers and nursing homes.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda Kay (Ron) Archer and Carol Ann (Fred) Koontz, both of Parkersburg and Adrianne Hallie (Jason) Kramer of Sabattus, Maine; grandchildren, Linda Katherine Peyton and James Frederick (Kim) Anderson, both of Crestview, Fla., William Joseph (Jill) Anderson of Charleston, W.Va., Britin Thomas Kramer and Miranda Haley Kramer of Sabattus, Maine; great-grandchildren, Brigette Nicole Smith of St. Marys, W.Va., Shayna Marie Clay, Kristen Kendra Anderson and Casey James Anderson, all of Crestview, Fla., Chance Joseph Anderson and Owen Reed Anderson, both of Charleston, W.Va.; and great-grandson, Deion Michael Moseley, of St. Marys, W.Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-brother, C.E. Sommerville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thurs., March 10, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Phil Prunty officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Wed., March 9, at the funeral home.
