Born in Derrycaliff, Crusheen, County Clare, Ireland, the daughter of Michael Clancy and Margaret Markham.Baptized at St Cronan's, Crusheen. She arrived in NY on July 6, 1910 aboard the 'Oceanic", to join her sister Mary Clancy (Hallinan) in upstate Elmira NY.She worked as a domestic servant in NYC until her marriage in 1923 to David Halloran. The mother of 4 young children, she died the day after her 12 year old son during the Great Depression. They were laid to rest together in a donated grave.Catherine was known for her beauty,and her love of old songs and ghost stories.She was 5' 7", with very fair skin, black hair, and dark brown eyes.
