She was married to WM Gilmore February 18, 1888. To this union three children were born. Two children have preceded her in death.
She obeyed Christ and was converted at the early age of 16 years. Josie was a member of the Baptist church in which she lived a faithful life until death, which came September 24, 1927. She was 58 years, one month and 9 days old. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, one daughter Mrs. Izie Drisdell, 3 grandchildren, Noma and Reba Steeley and Loretta Drisdell. She leaves 3 brothers, Tom Jones of Bois D' Arc, Mitt Jones of Everton and Lee Jones of Riverside, California, besides a host of relatives, friends, and neighbors who will miss her.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. WR Russell in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church near Pilgrim, in the presence of a large audience assembled to pay their respects to this good woman, and to extend their sympathies to the bereaved ones. Her remains were laid to rest in the church cemetery.
