William "Bill" Edward Bailey Jr., age 79, of Auxvasse, Missouri died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Missouri.

Bill was born June 6, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late William Edward and Ina Esther (Paul) Bailey Sr.

He married Ruby Jewel Branch on February 5, 1943, in Jefferson City, Missouri. She preceeded him in death on February 5, 1997.

Survivors include seven daughters, Eileene Archer of Mt. Vernon, Missouri;Tammy Buckholtz of Fulton, Missouri; Ina Snyder of Rush Hill, Missouri, Shirley VanVactor of Green Ridge, Missouri, Gloria Durham of Mexico, Missouri, Sherry Lynn Walker of Mexico, Missouri and Barbara Bartlet of the state of Florida; five sons, Edward Baily of Auxvasse, Missouri, Bruce Baily of the state of Missouri, Ricky Baily of Mexico, Missouri, Larry Baily of Mexico, Missouri and Dewayne Baily of Auxvasse, Missouri; thirty-eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a brother, David Baily of Barnhart, Missouri.

He was also preceeded in death by four children and two brothers.

Mr. Baily was a brick setter for Kaiser Refractories and served in the Army from 1943 to 1944.

Services are at 3PM today at Debo Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit, Missouri with Reverand Rob Ayers officiating.

Burial will follow in Bull Cemetary.
