Charlotte was the daughter of John Potter & Rachel Thompson Potter; she married James Bothwell on Dec 06, 1810 in New Geneva, Pennsylvania. Charlotte & James were the parents of: Mariah (born Feb 13, 1812), Rachel (b June 15, 1813), Catherine (b Jan 15, 1815), John Thompson (b Sept 25, 1816), James Kimble (b Apr 20, 1818), Alexander William (b May 30, 1820), Ezra (Zara Costen)(fag#55643767) (b Apr 17, 1822), George Benson (b Feb 28, 1824), Ezra Potter (b Nov 03, 1825), Samuel Hagan (b June 18, 1827), and Henry Clay (b Dec 13, 1833).

According to an obituary her year of birth is 1798:
"Mrs. Caroline Bothwell, the oldest person and oldest resident of this county, died at the residence of her son, Ezra P. Bothwell, in McArthur, at 12 o'clock Saturday, in her eighty ninth year. She was born in Fayette county, Pennsylvania, in January, 1798, was the daughter of John Potter, and was married to James 1810, with whom she had lived in the State of Maryland until 1814, when they moved to this county, sixty-one years ago.
Her husband died in 1861. She lived to see her fifth generation, and was the mother of eight sons and three daughters."
