Mrs. G.A. (Martha J.) Motes, age 70, formerly of Dawson County,died at her home in Atlanta last Sunday, following a long illness. Mrs. Motes is survived by her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Homer Sewell of Duluth, Mrs. J.H. Reeves, Mrs. Sara Smith, Mrs. A.A. King, and Mrs. Myrtie McKinney, one son, J.L. Motes of Atlanta, two brothers, J.A. and E.S. Whitemore of Atlanta; six sisters, Mrs. M. Ellenburg, Mrs. S.M. Richards of Atlanta, Mrs. C.L. Blackwell of Blue Ridge, Texas, Mrs. Isabel Darnell of Jasper, Mrs. Cansada Hones, Mrs. Alice Beck of Dawsonville. 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Northside Baptist Church in Atlanta, Monday morning, conducted by Rev. O.M. Elenburg after which the body was intered at Concord cemetery in Forsyth County on Monday afternoon.
