Sgt. Easley was a member of the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army for 20 years and was a master parachutist.
During U.S. Strike Commands, Exercise DELAWAR, he parachuted into Iran, for which he was awarded a Certificate of Commendation. His service included one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, he served as Gen. Westmoreland's aide.
He was predeceased by his parents; three sisters, Lelia Easley Fray, Bernita Easley Gibson and Nadine Easley Vanzandt.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; two daughters, Teresa Becta (Barry) of Florida and Sharon Kendall (Glenn) of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Audra Easley Pratt of Little Flock, Glee Easley Wood of Harrisonville, Mo., and Bobbie Easley Dart of Gateway, Ark.
Military burial services were held Feb. 24, 2011, in the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fla.
