Eugene was the firechief in Fairbanks, Alaska for more than twenty years. He and his wife, Aimee, settled in Aloha, Oregon in the late 1950's, where they remained until her death in 1965. Gene remarried and lived with his new wife in Baker City, Oregon. He was widowed again and after he passed, his ashes were interred with Aimee's at the Tualatin Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro, Oregon, now called Valley Memorial Park.
