Arnold R. Tippie Sr., 71, formerly of 1805 Kingston, died at 7 a.m. Friday in Oaks Convalescent Center.

Born May 22, 1906, in Parker City, Ind., he was a son of Moses and Catherine Elizabeth Redd Tippie. He married the former Cynthia Cecil Binkley and she died Sept. 24, 1971.

Survivors include three sons, Arnold R. Jr., of Rt. 6, Wapakoneta, Gaynor L. of Woodbridge and Richard Bucher of 1645 Lee Ann Dr.; six daughters, Mrs. Laureen Conn of 1811 Ada Rd., Mrs. Robert (Janice) Hardesty of Allentown, Mrs. Gene (Carolyn) Coffey of 709 E. Kibby, Mrs. Doyle (Beverly) Foltz of Thompson, Mrs. Ronald (LaDonna) Hickey of 726 W. Wayne and Laura Doyle of Burlington, Iowa; 32 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Howard of Oregon, Robert of 711 E. Kent, Carl of California, Ralph of 1904 Lennox and Harold of Wapakoneta, three sisters, Lila Wilcox of Kenton, Mrs. Elwood (Annabelle) Lucas of 201 W. Robb and Helen Smith of 772 Holly.

He had been a custodian at the Allen County Courthouse for 25 years and was a member of First Pilgrim Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Siferd Westwood Chapel, Rev. J. B. Zeits officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 today and anytime Sunday at the funeral home.
