Alice Catherine Johns, age 75, of Malakoff, Texas, formerly of Westmoreland, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010. Funeral service was Monday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Doug Curtis officiating, burial followed in the Eulia Cemetery in Lafayette with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Johns was born July 15, 1934 in Macon County, daughter of the late Willie R. and Bessie Bell Wix Akins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one daughter Rebecca Lampley, five brothers, Ora Akins, Jessie Akins, Tommy Akins, S. G. Akins, and Earl Akins and three sisters, Erma Meador, Frances Gregory and Lorene Burdine, She is survived by her children, Danny (Paul) Johns of Lebanon, Jerry Johns of Gallatin, James Johns of Lafayette, Timothy Johns and Michael Johns both of Texas, one daughter Kim Carman of Hartsville; one sister Betty Jo (Rex)Leath-Rexroat of Indiana; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
