Albert Edward Fear was born in Paddington, England and after immigrating with his family to the United States in 1913, he settled in San Francisco, California. He was a jeweler by trade and was well known in the city for his fine craftsmanship. For more than 30 years, Albert and his wife, Elsie, owned and operated the "Kensington Place Jewelry Store and Fine Gift Shop" in San Francisco.
April 30, 1917, Albert filed a Declaration of Intention in the district Court of the United States, Northern District of California, for the City and County of San Francisco. The document stated he was 5', 11 1/2 ' tall, weighed 127 pounds, had brown hair, brown eyes, a fair complexion and was a jeweler by trade. After immigrating from England, he entered the United States at Detroit, Michigan from Montreal, Canada and at the time he signed the document, he was residing at 81 Dehon Street in San Francisco. "I am not an Anarchist; I am not a polygamist nor a believer in the practice of polygamy; and it is my intention in good faith to become a citizen of the United States of America and to permanently reside therein: So Help Me God."
Albert had a wonderful singing voice. He was a faithful member of the vocal group the Loring Club of San Francisco for more than 30 years and he sang in his church choir. When W. W. I. erupted, he returned to England, joined the British Lancashire Fusiliers, and was sent to France. On April 7, 1919 upon completion of his overseas duty, Albert boarded the ship "Mauretania" at Southamptonshire, England to return to the port of San Francisco in California.
Albert and his wife Elsie sold the "Kensington Place Jewelry Store and Fine gift shop" in 1957, and relocated to Cambria, California, where they opened another store named "Sparkling Gifts".
When Albert died March 4, 1965, Elsie, was unable to attend his funeral service, as she was hospitalized and very ill. There were two memorial services held in Albert's honor, one Tuesday, March 9th in the Cambria Community Church, and the second on Friday the 16th at the Trinity Methodist Church in San Francisco. Both Albert and Elsie were cremated and their ashes interred at the Odd Fellows Cemetery and Mausoleum in San Luis Obispo.

The Cambria community was saddened today, by the death of Albert Fear, 69, local jeweler which ocurred in a San Luis Obispo hospital following a short illness.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elsie Fear of Cambria, and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Soloman of Burlingame and Mrs. Violet Ferguson of San Francisco.
There is to be no visitation, and it has been requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the organ fund of the San Francisco Church.
Interment under the direction of the Palmer-Walters Chapel will be in the IOOF Memorial Park in San Luis Obispo.
