Christy was the daughter of James and Ann McLean-O'Brian. She was the first child of James and Ann that was born in the United States. The family immigrated from McGillivary Township, Huron County, Ontario in 1863. They settled on a farm in Maple Valley Township, Sanilac County. Christy's death was mourned by all, especially her sister Annie. On her tombstone is the inscription "sleep on sweet babe and take thy rest God called you home he thought best".
