Funeral services were held for Mrs Laura Olna Atkinson, 85, on Saturday afternoon July 30 at the Mission Covenant church in Stanton at 2 o'clock, Rev Fred Jansson, pastor of the church officiated. Mrs Atkinson, widow of the late Jim Atkinson, passed away July 28, 1955 at a nursing home in Villisca. In September 1954 Mrs Atkinson became ill and was taken to Rosary hospital in Corning where she remained for many months, then was moved to a nursing home in Villisca where she remained until her death on Thursday. The deceased was born Sept 25, 1869 in Ohio. There are no immediate survivors. At the time of her death she was 85 years, 10 months and three days of age.

Pallbearers were William Thompson, Arthur Gibson, Gust Falk, Edward Ossian, John Carlson and Paul Hoagberg.

Flower bearers, Mrs Ivan Lundgren and Mrs John Lundgren, Russell Bergstrom was soloist and Miss Louise Palmquist, organist. Usher was Axel Anderson.

Interment was made in the family lot at Fairview cemetery in Page county. Relatives present from a distance were Mr and Mrs Mason Conrad and John Atkinson of Lawrence, Kans, Mrs Mason is a niece and Mr Atkinson is a nephew of the late J.C. Atkinson. Friends present from out of town were Mr and Mrs Duane Lundgren of Corning, Mr and Mrs Ivan Lundgren of Omaha, Mr and Mrs John Ludgren of Red Oak. VILLISCA REVIEW, Villisca, Iowa, Aug 4, 1955
