Longtime Richmond resident Ruth Elizabeth Iovino, 88, who loved traveling and visiting her children, died yesterday at Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Castleton Corners.

Born Ruth Elizabeth See in Argos, Indiana, she grew up in Peru, Indiana, and attended Peru High School.

She served in the Women's Army Corps during World War II from 1943 to 1945, stationed stateside. A technician fifth grade, she was assigned to Moore General Hospital in Swannanoa, North Carolina.

She moved to Brooklyn in 1945, and settled in Richmond in 1953.

Mrs. Iovino was a clerical worker for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., a childcare worker at Mount Loretto in Pleasant Plains, and a kitchen aide at the New Dorp Beach Friendship Club. She retired when she was eighty-five.

She enjoyed traveling and visiting her children in different parts of the world.

Toward the end of her life, Mrs. Iovino was lovingly cared for by her husband of sixty-six years, Emanuel, her family said.

Mrs. Iovino was a parishioner of St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Richmond.

Surviving, along with her husband, Emanuel, are her son, Gerlando; her daughters, Sarina Coffin and Emanuella Walton; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Saturday from the Colonial Funeral Home, New Dorp, with a morning mass in St. Charles R.C. Church, Oakwood.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
