Mrs. Ruth Badger Richardson Bare, age 84 of West Jefferson, NC died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bare was born April 20, 1924 in Ashe County to the late Joseph and Fannie Waddell Badger. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband; Ross Richardson, second husband Wilmer Bare and one brother.
Mrs. Bare retired from Blue Ridge Electric after over twent years of service. She loved to volunteer at the Ashe County Library. She enjoyed reading crocheting, quilting and gardening. She was also a member of the Extension and Community Service Club.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jack Miller and Elder Floyd South. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service.
Mrs. Bare is survived by one daughter; Joan "Jodi" Richardson Fisch of West Jefferson, NC, One step-daughter; Shelia Bare Helms of Taylorsville, NC; one sister; Donna Badger Poe of Mocksville, NC, 2 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
