Joyce L. Bradford, age 86, of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Conway Regional Medical Center. Born in Shirley, Arkansas, on March 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George Riley and Margaret E. (Caldwell) Towery.

Mrs. Bradford was a retired school teacher and a charter member of the Shirley Public School Association. She was also active in the Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Bradford was a member of the Shirley Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Bradford, Jr., who passed away on August 22, 2000, and also by her parents; two brothers, Talmadge Towery and Glen Towery; and three sisters, Opal Ham, Leon Smith, and Georgia Hall.

Mrs. Bradford is survived by one son, Michael Bradford and his wife, Nancy, of Selma, Texas; one daughter, Pam Berry and her husband, Jimmy, of Fairfield Bay; one brother, Jack Towery of Shirley; three sisters, Celeste Smith and Melba Tipton, both of Shirley, and Helen Ruth Ward of Sutherlin, Oregon; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bradford is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
