Mary Amanda was the daughter John & Jemima Wright Barto. Born in Indiana, she married Charles A. A. Dannenberg and they lived in Aurora, TX, in the early 1880s. They had eight children--Joseph Samuel, Deborah Alma, Thomas Alexander, Bert Anderson, Mary Elsie, Leslie Earl, Baltimore Leona & Otto O. Dannenberg. The family moved to Sacramento, CA, about 1883, where the last three children were born.
