Virginia Lee ?Sister? Bradley, 89, passed away on the morning of April 9, 2010, at home following a long illness.
A lifelong resident of Charleston, Virginia was a Charleston High School graduate, and a retiree from the Kroger company. She was an active volunteer at Charleston Area Medical Center until the last years of her life.
Virginia was preceded in death by her mother and father, Edward L. Bradley Sr. and Zillah E. Bradley; as well as her brother, Edward L. Bradley Jr.
She is survived by her niece, Deborah B. Wilson (Steve); and her nephew, Edward Lee Bradley III (Cece). Also surviving are five great-nephews, Lee, Matt, Bradley, Timmy, and Ryan; and one great-niece, Jodi.
Virginia led her life in service to other people. Some of her contributions include:
A 60-year member of Faith Rebekah Lodge No. 57, Elkview. She was a past Noble Grand and Past District Deputy President
Secretary of the Rebekah Assembly of WV for 39 years and Past President of the International Secretaries' Association
A member of Auxiliary Charleston No. 7 L.A.P.M and Association Past President of the Department Association L.A.P.M. of WV
Past Chief Matriarch of Star L.E.A. No. 104 of Clarksburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 12, at the mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, with the Rev. Jim Robinson officiating.
Friends may pay their respects an hour before the service at the mausoleum.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home.
