MONROE, Wis. — Emmett
"Jack" ODooahue, 67, Monroe,
died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at
the Monroe Clinic.
He was born April 26, 1931, in
Mellen, Wis., the son of Emmett
John and Genevieve (King)
O'Donahue.
He graduated from Monroe
High School.
Mr. O'Donahue married Shirley
Blum June 13,1953, in Edgerton,
Wis.He worked at Monroe Ready
Mix, Truck Inc., and Dorman-
Roth Cheese Company in Monroe
before retiring.
He was a member of the St.
John's United Church of Christ,
Monroe, a. former member of
Monroe Lion's Club, and was a
member of the 32nd Red Arrow
Division Association.
He entered the National Guard
Oct. 24, 1950, and active duty in
the U.S. Army Oct. 15, 1961, in
Monroe. He served as a sergeant
first class with Company B, 2nd
Brigade, 128th Infantry, 32nd
Division, as part of the 6th U.S.
Army during tHe Berlin crisis.
He served active duty 10
months and was honorably discharged-
Aug. 10, 1962, at Fort
Lewis, Wash. He retired April 13,
1971, from the National Guard
as a first sergeant with Detachment
1, Company D, 132nd Support
Battalion in Madison.
Survivors include his wife,
Shirley, of Monroe; a son, Patrick
O'Donahue, San Francisco, Calif.;
a daughter, Penny (Tom)
ODonahue-Darling, Brookfieid,
Wis.; three brothers, David (Paulette)
O'Donahue, Ironwood,
James (Margaret) O'Donahue.
Kennewick, Wash., and Charles
(Dolly) O'Donahue, Tacoma,
Wash.; a sister, Sharon (Richard)
ODonahue-Cressey, Ironwood;
and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by
his parents and a sister, Mary E.
O'Donahue-Pozega.
Memorial services were
Wednesday at St. John's United
Church of Christ. Monroe, the
Rev. William T. Mike Heath officiating.
Private family graveside services
were, held at Greenwood
Cemetery, Monroe.
Shriner-Neushwander-Hager
Funeral Home, Monroe, was in
charge of arrangements.
