Earl Gamble, and his father, Milton Woods Gamble, drowned in Cowskin River on a Tuesday while crossing at the ford at the line road. Milton Gamble, a prominent farmer of Cowskin Prairie, was with his 12-year-old son and Mike Watkins, a boy who was working for him, and attempting to drive a herd of cattle across Cowskin river near Cayuga, Indian Territory. Watkins made it to the shore. Extracted from his obituaries in the South West City Republic newspaper and in the Benton Country Democrat, 1906.
