Funeral services for Mrs. Dimple Bilyeu Carter, 80, of Cookeville, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2001, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Johnny Fox officiating.
Burial was in Algood City Cemetery with Dyer Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Carter died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at NCH of Cookeville. She retired from a 50year nursing career in November 2000 from the Overton County Nursing Home and was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ in Cookeville.
Born June 14, 1920, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Perry D. and Rhonda (Weeks) Bilyeu. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarence Carter; her stepmother, Julia Bilyeu; and three sisters, Willie Rice, Lorell Peppers and Pauline Warren.
Survivors include a brother, Bill Bilyeu, Cookeville; a sister, Polly Hatch, Jackson; two nieces, Cindy Wilmouth and Perri Elkins; three nephews, Pat Warren, Jim Warren, and Mickey Bilyeu; a special and devoted friend, Debbie Jones, along with friends Pat Eldridge, Lorraine Ewers, and Trish Bement.
Pallbearers were Bruce Jones, Travis Jones, Jeremy Elkins, Mickey Bilyeu, Michael Bilyeu, James Cumby and Eric Clark. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Dr. Kenny Lynn, Mark Allison, and Mark Hill.
